Silvertone
also invented and markets the Silvertone Keyboard System of Frequency Control.
The Silvertone Keyboard system of frequency control is the Australian national
standard frequency control system for all officially sanctioned R/C aircraft
events in Australia. It is to our knowledge, the only variable bandwidth
frequency control system available on the international market. It is also one
of the few frequency control systems designed specifically to cope with
intermodulation effects on frequency allocations that span over 455kHz in
width. There are four versions of this very successful frequency control system
available. In the old Imperial standard (0.1" = 1kHz), the Issue 1,
29/40MHz board; the Issue 6, 35MHz (UK) board; the two board Issue 4, 36MHz
board. Finally there is the new half size Metric standard (1.27mm = 1kHz),
single board, Issue 5, 36MHz model. An added advantage of this system is the
frequency interlock capability which helps to prevent accidental frequency
clashes caused by transmitters left on in the pits or TX pound.
The
accessory section gives details of speed controllers, pulse generators, P.O.D.
in-line fail-safe modules, an F3B module and an in-line mixer for receivers.
Bob
Young, proprietor of Silvertone Electronics, contributes a monthly column to
Silicon Chip magazine, a nationally distributed electronics magazine and a
listing of almost ten years of contributions on a wide range of topics related
to radio control are included on this site.
A new
section has been added giving details of the latest addition to the popular
Mark 22 range of transmitters, the Mark 22-C. This transmitter is designed
specifically for advanced R/C projects. It features a BNC, 50 ohm coax antenna
connector which makes possible the use of the internal telescopic antenna or a
remote fibreglass, helical wound whip antenna. The Mark 22-C TX is also fitted
with a 2.5mm DC battery connector configured to provide a quick change from
internal to external power. Thus the Mark 22-C is ideal for advanced R/C
projects such as van operated UAVs, robots or R/C record attempts.
Finally
the long awaited first draft of the updated UAV section has been mounted ready
for viewing. This unique and helpful section presents an in-depth look at how
these mini marvels of modern technology actually work. Fully illustrated with
block diagrams and a copious quantity of photographs there is something here
for both the tryo and expert UAV enthusiast This section will be expanded
regularly as new items become available. Silvertone has now been appointed
Australian agent for the exciting new AUAV range of autonomous flight control
components and systems. More on this story shortly.
We trust
you will find something of interest at our site.
